Daisy Cheynes is your destination shop and website for gifts, home and personal accessories, beauty products, and jewellery, sourced from some of the most creative and modern designers in Scotland and beyond.
Most people around the world have heard of Scotland and most have heard of some of the things that Scotland produces, like whisky and tartan. But as you’d expect, Scotland is more than just the products that are traditionally associated with us.
Founder Karen Heriot worked as a retailer in Scotland’s tourist industry, actively seeking out products that were Scottish, but which didn’t rely on traditional images to mark them as such. She brings this experience and keen eye to the products she sources and what wonderful products they are.
There are soaps and toiletries from North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, handmade organic soaps and creams from Edinburgh, brilliant real slate chessboards, coasters and other tableware from Fife, ceramics from Perthshire, cushions and little wooden ornaments from East Lothian and, yes, beautiful tartan cushions too.
But they’re not just limiting their search for fantastic products to Scotland. They have wonderfully quirky button jewellery from Ireland, and lovely handmade jewellery from Northumberland. You can find all of those products scattered around various shops in Scotland if you look hard enough but at Daisy Cheynes they’ve done the searching for you and brought them all together in one place.
Daisy Cheynes is named in memory of Karen’s mother, whose maiden name was Cheyne and so was affectionately known as Daisy to her school friends! She also had a wee shop in Edinburgh, so naming the family business in her memory seemed like a lovely idea.
Karen first launched Daisy Cheynes as a wee website from her home in Crieff in 2007 before moving to Edinburgh and opening her ‘bricks and mortar’ store in the lovely Edinburgh neighbourhood of Stockbridge in February 2011, where she has been ever since!
