The Kilted Donut have opened in Stockbridge. The family owned donut shop which specialises in handmade American style donuts with a Scottish twist have opened on St Stephen Street. They offer over 60 flavours, including the more traditional favourites such as Jammy or Cranachan to the more outlandish such as Maple Bacon or Fiery Scotch Bonnet with plenty of fun flavours in between. The donuts are made by hand each day with all glazes and fillings made using locally sourced ingredients. There is a flavour for everyone.
On a typical day there is a choice of 9 flavours available, six rotating options and three vegan options which are always available – Cinnamon Sugar, Vanilla and Jammy. Each Saturday and Sunday bring Kronuts and Bubble Bread Muffins which are perfect alongside their Peruvian coffee sourced from local supplier Eteaket.
The business launched in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Mark and Lena who were inspired by a Donut shop they discovered during their honeymoon. After spending a year experimenting with different donut recipes, they began trading at various markets around Edinburgh, The original Kilted Donut opened on Great Junction Street, Leith in October of 2018 with no additional staff. Fast forward 3 years and they have expanded to a second shop in Stockbridge, an external kitchen and have a team of 9 staff members in addition to Mark and Lena. Both locations are open Wednesday thru Sunday 10am to 5pm.
Kilted Donut are very excited to welcome you all to their new donut shop at 22 Saint Stephen Street, where you can sit in, relax and enjoy your Coffee and Donuts or take a box home, to friends or to the office. They can provide donuts for a one off event or set up a monthly, weekly or even daily order.
