The newly opened Lennon Gallery on Stockbridge’s Henderson Row is calling out to all Edinburgh based 2D visual Artists to submit to a forthcoming Festival Group Show, an exhibition to be shown between 04 – 28 August. Gallery owner Alan Lennon is himself a multi disciplined artist, his work spanning many areas; oil painting, direct stone carving, clay sculpture, and more recently – traditional hand-cut photomontage. The gallery is now accepting submissions. Alan Lennon will serve as juror to decide which six artists will be invited to exhibit. “This is a great opportunity for our local artists, amateur or professional, to get their work in front of a large audience in a fresh new exhibition space.” – Alan Lennon

Planned specifically to coincide with our wonderful Edinburgh Festival, this show will open Friday 4 August and run until Monday 28 August. The ultimate aim of this event is to help build the reputation of Stockbridge as being a vibrant centre for culture and the arts, drawing the visitors away from the City Centre and into the heart of our Village.

Submission Guidelines:
1 An artist should submit 3-4 jpegs of their work for consideration. Oils, acrylic, pastel, watercolour, collage, mixed media and photography. The show will focus on Figurative subject matter only. ‘Figurative’ is considered to be figures, forms and faces and can be either representational or abstract.
2 Artist must be Edinburgh based for entry. Submissions will be accepted via email to: alan@lennon-art.co.uk
3 Deadline for electronic entry is noon June 1, 2017.
4 Please send only quality images. Do not refer the gallery to websites for image submission.
5 Include contact information (name, address, email, and phone) and short statement/bio.
6 Include title of piece, media, dimensions and *hanging price. All work must be original and for sale. *The commission is 25% to the Gallery.
7 6 Artists will be selected from the entrants.
8 A participation fee of £30 per selected artist will contribute to publicity and refreshments. Paid via BACS in advance of show.
9 Acceptance will be via email, and drop off of the physical works will be Sunday 30 July (11am-5pm), or call if other arrangements are necessary.
10 Clearly mark the back of your entry with identifiable information.
