It’s good to see No. 12 St Stephen Street won’t be sitting empty for long. Vegan fashion retailer treen posted an announcement on their Instagram @shoptreen saying “Since closing our doors to our pop-up back at @spaceatseventeen in August we’ve been holding our breath. We couldn’t be prouder to now say that we have a new home at No. 12, St Stephen Street! Join us on Friday 1 November 6 – 8pm to celebrate and raise a glass (or three!), then come shop in the store from Saturday 2 November 10 – 6pm, open daily”
Founders Jack and Jess of Space at Seventeen where treen first opened in Stockbridge posted to their Instagram @spaceatseventeen after the announcement saying …
“when we opened our emails this morning we were incredibly excited to see that @shoptreen have finally shared with you all the wonderful news that they have a new home at No. 12, St Stephen Street. From the moment they opened their doors with us, we knew that there were very big things in the pipeline for Cat and the Treen dream team (wow, that’s a bit of a mouthful!). After their incredible success during their three months in the space, we are delighted that they want to make our street their new home. And the fact we can literally wave from our own door is bit of a a bonus too. We have a feeling it’s going to be like they’ve never left and we can’t wait to see what they have planned…watch this space.”
Space at Seventeen opened in Stockbridge early in 2019 offering No. 17 St Stephen Street as a ‘A private hire concept in Edinburgh’ and it’s been constantly evolving and re-inventing it’s self ever since with a tennant list of some of the most innovative, design conscious small businesses the city has to offer. Tennants have included Groats, Studies by Emily Stephen, Treen, Velow Bikeworks and Meander.
Jack and Jess approached design and communications agency Meraki Concept Studio to create the visual identity and design a welcome pack for tenants. Their scope reads …
“Space at Seventeen is a concept that nurtures ideas and ambition; a space in which individuals and small businesses come into their own and flourish. Situated on the coveted St Stephen Street, Seventeen is a place to develop and realise new ideas; a transformative space that promotes discovery and provides clarity. As each new resident brings their own perspective and talent, another leaves with enhanced insight and new experiences.” (..more)
Meraki Concept Studios have also been heavily involved in creating the treen visual identity, responsible for overseeing all customer touchpoints—from collateral and packaging to website and Instagram.
Founder of treen Cat Anderson wrote in the companies official announcement on shoptreen.com “Is this real? Am I really typing these words? Yes, although I can’t quite believe it. We, treen, have a new home! Somewhere to hang up our coat and let out a happy sigh each morning before starting the day. We are absolutely and completely, over the moon ecstatic! Anyone who’s ever dreamt of having the keys to their own shop front or home will know how this feels, and we couldn’t have done it without the support, patience and cheerleading from everyone around us – that means you.
