While Stockbridge Market is on hold, a new delivery service brings the farmers market to your door. Started by a local husband and wife team, Roeder and Bell deliver an assortment of pre-selected goodies to your door, so that you can enjoy delicious neighbourhood favourites, while keeping your social distance.
After many delicious food-focused trips, Emma (Roeder) and Cameron (Bell) realized the inherent excitement that comes with the discovery of new flavours and treats. To celebrate this, Roeder and Bell was born with the aim to introduce global flavours using local ingredients. In light of current events, their operation is increasingly focused on the support of small local businesses and those in the community who are most affected. As part of these endeavours, delivery fees are given entirely to drivers who have lost work because of the virus.
I.J.Mellis
The assortments, which come safely delivered in boxes to your door, change bi-weekly and are delivered every Wednesday and Saturday. Depending on your household size, you can choose from either a small box or a large box. Staying true to their Stockbridge roots, Roeder and Bell source their meat and poultry from George Bower and their cheese from I.J.Mellis. In this week’s box, all orders will find a whole free range chicken from Bower and in the large, an additional two 28 days dry-aged ribeye steaks. All boxes will also find Clava brie from I.J.Mellis, and an additional Lanark blue in the large.

Aside from our Stockbridge locals, the duo is supporting other Edinburgh producers, such as Union of Genius soup, and Scottish producers such as Jarvis Pickle pies (who white label for Fortnum and Mason), as well as Trotter’s Independent Condiments and smoked salmon from Fife.

Roeder and Bell are also official fulfillment partners of Raeburn Fine Wines in Comely Bank. As a fulfillment partner, this means that with the purchase of any sized box, you will have the option to add-on Raeburn Wine, which will be delivered with your food. While you cannot make use of this partnership for this Saturday’s box, there is a good chance that logistics will be arranged in time for your box on Wednesday, April 15.
