Step into Stockbridge this Christmas to experience a spectacular stocking full of delights… Stockbridge Traders’ Association is hosting Stockbridge Stocking on Saturday 5th December 2015, which is also Small Business Saturday, a day to celebrate, appreciate and support local independent businesses.
The day kicks off at 9:30am with a SANTA PARADE through Raeburn Place to nearby Inverleith Park where the Santa fun run takes place. From there, saunter into the heart of Stockbridge, perhaps stopping in one of our many specialist eateries for elevenses or lunch. Refueled, set off to investigate the wide range of boutique shops and find some unique and interesting Christmas gifts. Whilst shopping, there will be festive themed musical entertainment including the Waverley Voices Choir singing outside the Cancer Research shop in the middle of Raeburn Place, as well as fun competitions for you to try.
Take a lucky dip into our Stockbridge Stocking competition at ONLY £1 a go, with all proceeds going to The Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital, to have a chance of winning a gift or voucher to redeem in a Stockbridge business. There is also the Stockbridge Selfie competition which is FREE to enter with the chance to win a £50 VOUCHER to spend in a participating Stockbridge business of your choice. All you need to do is look out for #SelfieFrames as you shop, snap your selfie in the frame and post to our Stockbridge Traders’ Twitter account (@StockbridgeSTA) with hashtag #StockbridgeSelfie (full instructions & map will be available).
For 3 o’clock, make your way to Jubilee Gardens for the Christmas Lights’ Switch On, accompanying will be carol singing by the Stockbridge Primary School Choir, the announcing of the #StockbridgeSelfie WINNER, NOT TO MENTION FREE mulled wine, mince pies and sparklers! There will still be time afterwards to visit or (re-visit) more of our shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to round off your day (not to mention collecting and spending your WINNINGS!) before you head home…
The Stockbridge Stocking is the first such Christmas event organised by the STA (Stockbridge Traders’ Association) and they look forward to your support.
