The Antiquary Bar
The Antiquary, “The Tiq”, “The Anti”, “The Antiq” or “The Aunty Mary” is a Stockbridge institution spanning over five decades. This basement bar on St Stephen Street offers all you would expect to drink and more.
Known for their Full Scottish Breakfasts and Sunday Roasts the kitchen is run by former Head Chef of Howies and La Garrigue, James Dillon. James prepares dishes daily using the best fresh produce from local shops such as, Armstrongs of Stockbridge and George Bower Butcher, Poulterer and Game Dealer.
Named after Sir Walter Scott’s book, the bar has retained its character over the years, despite some layout changes. Its also been featured in TV and movie productions, adding to its charm.
They host Poker Night on Tuesday, Quiz Night on Wednesday, and local Folk Musicians gather to play on Thursdays.
