After many years of collecting and obsessing over vintage fashion Claire Paterson opened her vintage boutique ‘Those Were The Days’ in the Edinburgh neighbourhood of Stockbridge, in June 2011. She has strived to create a little piece of vintage shopping heaven in Edinburgh, similar to some of the fabulous vintage boutiques she loves visiting in LA. Paris and London.

The ever changing collections of one-of-a-kind women’s and men’s vintage fashions, bridal wear, jewellery and accessories span the 1920s to the 1980s are all expertly hand picked and sourced from buying trips around the world. All the hard work sourcing and hunting through fairs, markets and collectors closets has been done for you by the Those Were The Days team.

All tastes and price points are catered for and as such you’ll find relevant and collectible pieces from designers such as Halston, Leonard, Jean Muir, Ossie Clark, and Mary Quant as well as vintage high street and vintage bespoke pieces. Specialities of the boutique are the exquisite collections of 1930s to 1960s evening, cocktail and prom dresses, and the beautiful vintage bridal wear collection. Items can also be sourced for you by the team. All pieces are chosen because they represent the best of an era in respect of their design, style and high quality and craftsmanship. All pieces are also expertly cleaned and restored before they arrive in the boutique.

The stylish and beautifully decorated two roomed boutique is filled with the finest vintage clothing and bridal wear, with the front room housing the fashion, jewellery and accessories collections and the backroom showcasing the bridal wear collection. The knowledgeable and helpful team strive to create a fun and relaxed environment in which to indulge your vintage fashion shopping desires.
