DN Theatre is near you! Now running on Saturday afternoons from 2pm at the Lifecare Centre on Cheyne Street in Stockbridge. Our classes are fun and inspiring, giving children age 4 to 16 years the opportunity to experience a mix of singing, drama and dancing. Our fully qualified teachers deliver new skills each week, focusing on every student individually to help them excel.
Musical Theatre Minis for kids aged 4-6 years
Our Musical Theatre Minis is designed for boys and girls from 4–6 years. It’s a 60-minute class, packed with singing, drama and dance. We explore the wonderful world of musicals and theatre characters, finding our voices in a fun, creative and supportive environment. The ideal first step on stage to help develop little personalities and creative teamwork.
Musical Theatre Academy for kids aged 7-16 years
Our Musical Theatre Academy is for children aged from 7-16 years and offers more in-depth training and workshops. Each session runs for 2 hours and 15 minutes, with the time split between vocal coaching (singing), acting and script work, plus stage dance and movement. The academy content is tailored to suit those attending, but we typically split into smaller groups to allow focus on core areas in line with experience and ability. For those with some experience in performing arts, there’s a focus on more challenging vocal and harmony techniques and work on full drama scripts.
Spotlight! On-stage experience.
Every student is given the opportunity to perform on-stage at our biannual ‘Spotlight’ shows held in an Edinburgh fringe theatre venue. No prior experience is necessary as our talented teachers work in all genres of musical theatre to help students develop vocal technique and harmony, hone their acting skills and polish their stage-show dance technique.
