Miss Kelly Bakewell, winner of Miss Scottish Pin-up 2015 can be seen wandering the streets of Stockbridge on many an occasion. Kelly loves the thrill of finding a beautiful well cared for vintage dress that really stands out against the high street store fashions. Miss Kelly Bakewell feels that shopping for vintage clothing in person is far easier than buying online as the sizing is very different to modern day sizing so really must be tried on to ensure the right fit and drape of the fabric.
Miss Kelly Bakewell is of the opinion that vintage style never goes out of fashion and that there is an era to flatter everyone. Her advice on taking on a vintage look is to give it a modern twist as this can take an otherwise dated look to a much more individual level, stopping the look from being too fancy dress. Kelly does this easily with her brightly coloured hair but also by changing the hems and necklines of vintage pieces and accessorising them with a statement modern fabric or colour like a mint leather jacket.
Another piece of advice from Miss Kelly Bakewell on the pin-up lifestyle is to be bold and know what works for you and your shape. Start out small, dip your toe in and inject a little colour into your wardrobe, it wont bite.
