Yes, it’s that time of year again. It’s the Daisy Cheynes Christmas Extravaganza! Pop along to their Raeburn Place shop this Saturday, the 2nd November, and enjoy 10% off all purchases and a glass of bubbles from 12pm (or orange juice) as you browse. So, what can you expect this year?
Well, we should start with Christmas decorations, fabulously concentrated in and around and on little Christmas trees. There are lots of lovely hanging silver decorations, little felt people, glass ornaments, snow globes, wreaths, tea lights and lots more new surprises. And there’s crackers, stockings, nativity scenes and advent calendars too.

Art is popular throughout the year, but never more so than at Christmas. And if you think that buying art for someone else can be a little bit fraught, then you’ll change your mind at Daisy’s. From the brilliance of Cath Waters’ seascapes of the inner and outer Hebrides, through artist Morven Jones’ exquisite (and customisable for you) intimate frames to Ross McIntyre’s watercolour snow scenes of Edinburgh and his famous Edinburgh pub watercolours and calendar.

If you’re looking for jewellery that’s outside of the usual, then try the fusion of silver and Raku beads that form Edinburgh artist Silver Sparrow’s handmade creations, or the fabulous hand painted silver stud earrings from Edinburgh’s Maeberry jewellery. And new this year is beautiful silver jewellery from Lime Tree Designs.

With a cold winter being forecast, you’ll find plenty of warm cosiness with style this year from Scottish designer Powder. There are woolly scarves, snug gloves and – back by demand – soft, cosy bobble hats and short and long socks.

Essence of Harris
For toiletries, a new supplier, the Shetland Soap Company that works alongside people with a learning disability or autism to produce a range of exclusive, paraben-free handmade soap that’s hand mixed, hand cut, hand trimmed and hand wrapped.
Finally, there are home accessories of course, including lots of lovely aprons, tea towels and oven gloves and, of course, our wondrously fragrant candles and diffusers from the Isle of Harris. Essence of Harris is a family-run business producing highly scented natural soy wax candles, reed diffusers and room sprays for your home.
