Julia Krone Art and Design Summer Show situated at Edinburgh Festival Fringe Venue 422, presents new and older work. Paintings, Limited Edition Fine Art Prints and Art Fabrics presented in colours which are bound to lift your mood. ‘Summer’ and ‘Tidal’ are new series, inspired by swimming in the tidal pools of Brittany and South Africa. ‘Sanary VI’ which takes centre stage on the shows publicity flyer.
Julia Krone grew up and was educated in Cape Town, South Africa. She attended the University in Cape Town, where she gained an Honours degree in Social Science, majoring in Community Development Work.

Julia had a successful a career as a jazz singer in Cape Town having directed and produced her own cabaret show. She helped pioneer event management in Cape Town and for 15 years had her own company specialising in corporate and community events, live entertainment and music promotion.
Moving to Edinburgh in 2007, she had opportunity to study at Edinburgh College of Art and this helped launch her career as a painter.

Painting, print-making and textile design, have been her main focus. Most recently, she produced a clothing range promoting Dopamine Dressing, using her Bamboo art fabric range. Living in Edinburgh, she regularly shows her work at the Edinburgh Fringe and her Pop Up Studio Gallery on Clarence Street in Stockbridge has been hugely successful and is well worth a visit.
Julia’s paintings have been selected for various Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibitions and her work has been featured several times in Homes & Interiors Scotland.

Her work showed at Turbine Art Fair (TAF) Paper in Johannesburg this year and in Paris, Brussels and St Palais sur Mer with the BGallery last year. Her work may be found in private collections in South Africa, France, Spain, Australia, USA, Peru, UAE, England, Wales and Scotland.
